Roger,

I've read about everything Parker Palmer has written as well as The Powers that Be by Walter Wink.  Although I have not read them all, I understand Wink's entire "Powers" trilogy is excellent.  Along that line I would highly recommend The Prophetic Imagination (Second Edition) by Walter Brueggemann.  This is, in part, a discussion of the prophetic role of the contemporary church.

I'm a member of DOC class in Bartlesville, OK that chooses and discusses books during the church school hour every Sunday morning. This has been our practice for the past 40 or so years. It's been fun and enlightening to say the least. We are just finishing the Living the Questions 2.0 DVD based series (all 21 one sessions). Its been good and now we are ready to choose a new book (or books) to study.
In recent years we have read and discussed books by Walter Wink, Karin Armstrong, Richard Rohr, Marcus Borg, Parker Palmer, Anthony De Mello, etc. I'm looking for titles of good and challenging books along these lines that some of you may have read. What would you suggest?
Roger
