Lucille,
I was hoping to hear how your surgery went and recovery is progressing.  Thanks for the good news!   Richard and your loving support for Dan and Dave as they continue their journeys is an example of the constant renewing of life that we all hope for.  Loving thoughts to you all.

  Ellie and Carleton,
     My spinal surgery (five bone spurs removed) in Salisbury, MD on the 11th went well, and today has been my best day since then: Richard and I took a ride to the ocean, my first trip outside the house.  Wouldn't you love to have the ocean just a few miles from your home? 
     Please send prayers and good energy to our son Daniel.  Dan entered D&A rehab two days ago, following in his twin brother Dave's footsteps (several years ago).  In fact Dave and Rita drove him up to north Jersey to Sunrise House, the same wonderful rehab center Dave had been in.  He was transformed by the experience, and we expect no less for Dan. They have both come so far, considering the fact that when we adopted them at six in 1984, six years after our marriage, we were the sixth home they had lived in in six months.  They will be 31 in the fall and have each given us two wonderful grandchildren ages 3 and 10 (Dave), 2 and 5 (Dan).  We have been profoundly blessed, both in our marriage and in the journey of our family.
