[Dialogue] [Oe List ...] ToP Methods

To be honest, I don't now clearly recall why I started this conversation. That said, Paul, your aims are much better than any I had.
In visiting people around the country the last couple of years, I get lots of stories about Joe as a dramatic presenter -- doing this or that outrageous thing (at least for those times). By the time I came along, RS-1 was a system with conversations, lectures, seminars, course outlines, short courses, worship, room set up, decor and all. A lot of us taught it.
How did that shift happen? I don't know the story of that journey. Seems like it would be helpful to have the details of that transition.
Over the past couple of decades, a lot of my life has been caught up with ToP Methods -- I am a mentor trainer here in the US and a certified ToP facilitator. So, I guess I raise the question of present impact from where I stand, what I am doing.
So, I wondered, is this all a journey or actually quite separate strands? Is the pedagog world a different world than facilitator? or a development?

Subject: Re: [Oe List ...] [Dialogue] ToP Methods
Wonderful question, Jim.
First let me try and understand the
question:
You are asking us to compare and contrast the impact Joe
Matthews had, with the impact of an RS-I pedagogue and one of us on the road
facilitating workshops, using TOP or other methods. Is that right?
What is the existential aim of raising that question?
What is the rational objective?
Let me try and guess what I suspect are elements of your purpose
here:
The existential aim:
You raise this question in order for me and others on
this list-serve to reflect on the way we impact others and the way we could
impact others.
Rational objective:
To develop a dialogue on this list-serve about the way
we make a difference using the methods ‘we have grown up with’. Maybe we could
even come at the question: what does it mean to make a difference today?
So, just checking Jim, is that what you are
after?
And then, to spice things up, Richard throws in the
‘fast buck’ issue. I think that
helps to focus the Existential Aim bit of this dialogue.
Warm regards, today from
Lagos,
Paul
