FYI - I'm CEO of a Federally Qualified Health Center, and heavily involved
in collaborative efforts with hospitals, mental health systems, and other
entities addressing health care in Far West Texas.

Subject: [Dialogue] Input from Our Colleagues Who Are Medical Professionals

All of us who have contributed to the dialogue on health and health care are
health care users and each of us has had different experiences and therefore
bring different perspectives to the conversation.

There are some among us who share our common history, memory and values who
are not only health care users but health care deliverers and they bring a
unique perspective from their experience as medical professionals. I have
appreciated what Don Elliot has had to say, and I am thinking of other
medical professionals with whom we share commonality who may have valuable
input for this conversation.

The ones who come to mind off the top of my head are Ken Gilbert, Bob and
Sandra True, Steve Laxdahl and Jean Poole. I'm sure there are others I'm
not remembering. There may be others from other professions who have skin
in the game. From the insurance perspective Ken Wiltse may have some
insights. Tom Bergdall, currently with the Peace Corps in Botswana, worked
with the legal division of the New York City health department. I'll bet
he's got some tales to tell. There may be someone with experience in the
pharmaceutical industry who could add valuable insight.

If anyone has contact with any of these or others who are not on the
listserv and would be willing to invite their participation, it could help
all of us broaden our viewpoints.

Randy Williams
