I just finished
“Stranger from Abroad: Hannah Arendt, Martin Heidegger, Friendship and
Forgiveness”, by Daniel Maier-Katkin, WW Norton & Co., 2010
It is a review of the life of Hannah Arendt, born in 1906 a Jew in
Germany, and escaped before the Holocaust to the US. Her writings are summarized
in this book, including her reflections on what led to the Holocaust. The
origins of existentialism are also summarized, along with its major
tenents, which sound very much like the thinking we were doing in 5th City in the
60s and 70s.
This book is well worth the reading!
