I have a VCR tape entitled "Three Faiths One God" put together by several Christian denominations along with the Jewish faith and the Muslim faith which I have shown to my Methodist adult church class. Eboo Patel is featured in this program.

  Subject: [Dialogue] Youth Movement

I just finished a book called Acts of Faith: The Story of an American Muslim, the Struggle for the Soul of a Generation by Eboo Patel. This book is one from the reading list of the United Methodist Women. Eboo Patel has started a youth movement called Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC) which connects youth of various religious backgrounds in doing social action projects and discussing their own faith traditions, without trying to convert the others.

The book is well worth your reading, and the movement is on the net at IFYC. It began in Chicago, and has the potential of going global. Have any of you heard of it, or worked with them? Patel bases his vision on the fact that youth are being recruited by fundamental and violent groups, but are too largely ignored in other social movements.
