Dear Colleagues,
Hong worked with his wife Edna Hong to translate 26 volumes of
Kierkegaard's writings. They also founded the Kierkegaard library at
St. Olaf based on their own collection of his work. Howard died in
Northfield, MN
a few days ago. We owe much of our ability have access to and read
Kierkegaard to Howard and Edna Hong and their translations of
Kierkegaard. Thought you might like to see his obituary. The memorial
service will be held at Boe Chapel, St.Olaf College. People are
expected to come from many places to celebrate Howard's completed life.
Howard and Edna's son Erik and his wife Carol are close friends.
We've been in a book group together since shortly after moving to
Northfield in 2001.
Grace and Peace,
Beret
