[Dialogue] Jessica Watson

G'day friends

 

You can find out lots about (by now aged 17?) Jessica Watson by googling her name.

 

At her arrival back in Sydney on Sunday afternoon, Australian PM Kevin Rudd described her as our latest Australian hero.  Jessica dared to publicly disagree with him, saying she was just a girl with a dream (to circumnavigate the globe).

 

I thought of the phrase we've used in ToP training here:  PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE.

 

I was also reminded of Marshall McLuhan's comment about the 1969 moon landing: "A technological possibility".

 

So: there's proper preparation, the use of technolgy, and also the wonder of it all.
