[Dialogue] Bishop James K Mathews Obituary

Well, Don, since neither Google nor the internet was around in 1932, it's not
surprising that this event escaped being noticed in cyberspace. Maybe a book of
American history of religions might have a reference. But if it's still under
copyright it wouldn't have made it into Google's library.

BTW brother Joe was out in Los Angeles trying to break into Hollywood as a movie
star. Fortunately he saw the light at some point.

An interesting story here:"He had originally intended to study medicine, but his
brother, Joe, had just returned from the Olympiad of Religions in Los Angeles
that ran in tandem with the 1932 Olympics, and convinced him to enter the
clergy. "

There are no references to the "Olympiad of Religions" in Google search, except
for John Montgomery's reposting of the obituary. Does anyone have any memory or
information on that event?
