Hi Marianna,
I just wrote Dick Alton about this. Some from Amazon, 1 from England (Miriam MacGillis)--had to be reformatted because US is in a different dvd region than England, and "Fresh" I found via google--have to pay an extra licensing fee if used outside a home setting. Some of these probably can be rented. I purchased them because we will probably be using them in the future.

When I get the curriculum written up, I'll include where the dvds can be located.

Tomorrow's our last Sunday--don't know if I'll get to this before we leave next week or not, but will send you a copy when I do.

Ellie

Ellie,

Where did you get the DVDs for the Wed. study on the Big Picture? Is there one place you can order them? (I'm hoping some/all you can rent)

Happy retirement!
Marianna

Greetings from St. Louis,

Carleton and I are preparing to "re-tire" from the local church pastorate this summer, 7/17 being our last Sunday. In August we return to the Genesis Farm for the New Cosmology/Earth Literacy Immersion led by Sr. Miriam MacGillis, closing with Brian Swimme's new film "Journey of the Universe". (A book of the same title has been published and a new dvd study series will soon be released.) We were there last April for the Transitions Communities Intensive Training. As a follow-up we are doing an 8-week study series which is listed below in case anyone might be interested in any of the resources. Since then, we have connected with a local organic farm (EarthDanceFarms.org) and its CSA (community supported agriculture program). [The class preceding this was a 7-week series on the New Religious Mode/New Social Vehicle.]

We are also in the process of sorting through/cleaning out two offices and marrying two libraries. If anyone would like a copy of the 1970 LCX Tactics Manual (36 tactics booklets), let me know.

The classes include a series of dvds and discussions ranging the broad spectrum of the unfolding universe from which our human journey emerges, to the some of the current challenges we face as humans on our home planet, to ways we as Christians and the church can partner to create more sustainable and self-reliant communities that live in harmony with creation’s resources.
