Thanks Pamela.

I voted as you wished. I need some inspiration. Serious climate change initiatives, outside the local level, should be instigated/entered like WWII. I don't know how many floods, tornados, tsunamis, fires. destroyed towns etc. it will take but G_ _ is certainly trying.

Cynthia

Dick Alton and Sally Stovall and their church, Euclid Ave. United Methodist Church in Oak Park, IL are in the top 10 projects in Green America's Green Grants program this year. If you are inclined, please vote for them. I have been involved from time to time to help support their efforts as well. They are doing great things. Pam

Thanks to everyone who submitted nominees for Green America's second annual Green Grants contest! We received literally hundreds of amazing nominees from local green projects all over the country, and now... it's time to vote!
We selected the top ten projects that combine both sides of the green-economy equation – social justice AND environmental sustainability, along with community AND ecological health -- projects that are good for both people AND the planet.
Vote for your favorite today »
Amongst the list of top ten nominees, you'll find it all: organics, recycling, Fair Trade, local food initiatives, social justice, clean energy, youth involvement, energy efficiency, green buildings, green transportation, outreach to lower-income communities, all kinds of good, green community cooperation. The best news is that these projects are happening all across the country, with communities everywhere declaring that a shift to a greener economy will benefit us all.
You can find more information on each of the Top Ten finalists by clicking the links at right. Then, you can vote to help your favorite project win one of four green grants – a top prize of $2,500, and three second prizes of $1,000.
Please vote today, and forward the contest to your friends. Post a link on Facebook, tweet the contest to your friends, and get your networks involved.
With all the bad news making headlines right now, share these 10 amazing stories of how local green-economy advocates are building a better world. And who knows, maybe you'll inspire a new green project in your own backyard, and be in the running for your own green grant next year!
Thanks so much for helping us support the best green local-community projects around the country. We need your vote by June 30. We'll announce the winners the following week (along with links to all of the projects that were nominated).
Our hats are off to all the people involved in all of the projects – they are truly creating a better future for all today.
It's great to be working with you,

Alisa Gravitz,
Executive Director,
