Interesting,. I thought someone else just recently attributed this quote to Joyce Carol Oates, though Thompson seems more likely.

Subject: [Dialogue] town meeting quote

Hi,

does anyone know the correct qote that goes soething like "What appears to be the breaking up of civiliztion is the emergence of new forms by life itself. I realize I have the quote somewhat garbled. It was on one of the posters we hung when doing Town Meetings in the States. I would also like to know the atribution of the quote. I asm currently dowing some writng for a local group and that quote seems to be very appropriate to the conversation.

Thanks for any and all help.
