[Dialogue] Dialogue Digest, Vol 90, Issue 3

What a loss the world has suffered with the death of the splendid, modest, creative genius that was Steve Jobs. I’ve never owned a Mac that I didn’t love. How many times my mind has harked back to slaving laboriously to imperfectly hand print one of Joe chosen Psalms in Old English calligraphy…….with my Mac I could have whipped it out in nothing flat (and flawlessly as well!)...Anne Wood

hank you, Don and David.
I too bought my first Mac (of eight) in early '85, a Mac 512E [1024kb]
I quickly figured out graphics to write reports for clients illustrating pages
xactly the way the cards appeared on the walls.
As David said, his artfulness was a sine-qua-non for my creative interface with
the world'.
The original fonts package was amazing. At college, Steve had taken a course in
alligraphy and wanted to replicate it on a Mac.
Here's to St. Steve!
Ken

e bought one 512 for the office in '87. All the rest were PC's using DOS. I
et our overall productivity tripled that year - with just the one shared by
aybe 10 people. The graphic interface gave those of us who could not remember
ll of the DOS codes a way to actually get things done without asking Bill
taples for a code every 15 minutes. It was an amazing breakthrough for us. A
ouple years before that, Jan Sanders and Ian Gilmore used 'MacDraw' to create
he Group Facilitation manual. It was a big step in our professionalism.
