Hi, Nancy: I just got around to reading your Christmas note and poem from Rumi. It is so helpful. I've been so grateful for your and Fred's help with my health struggles, especially that summer I stayed with you. That was such a nice time. I'm sure sorry I didn't get a chance to tell Fred. And thanks too, for your note after Kim's death.
You have my best wishes and hopes for your future.
Take Care, Walt Epley

Dear Ones,
As the year of 2010 comes to a close, I have felt the need for connections; with each of you, with the natural world and all of our relations, our country and our world. For me, this has been a year of abundance and letting go! Abundance has come in the form of an incredible care structure and deepening relationships. Fred's death and the death of other friends has been an experience of letting go and of daring to face the opening of a door for something new.
Our family is gathering on Christmas Day for feasting and enjoying each other; appreciating each of our gifts for the family and for the world.
I am grateful for life as it comes to me each day. Thanks to all of you who have sent/called messages and come for visits. They have been a lifeline to our family.
May you know/remember the place in your heart that connects you to All That Is.
With love and gratitude,
Nancy
THE GUEST HOUSE by Rumi
This being human is a guest house,
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected guest.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably,
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be gratefuul for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
