Thank you, Ellie Stock, for sending the story about Wangari Maathai. I sent it on to Judy Leaf, a facilitator I am working with on a Symposium for my local (Binghamton, NY) area. The Symposium is called Awakening the Dreamer - Changing the Dream, and is one of the local events that are part of ICA's 50th anniversary celebration. Judy Leaf sent me the link below to a short video of Wangari Maathai telling a fine story about engagement. As she says, enjoy. (She had sent it to the 54 folks who have had Symposium facilitation training in our general area.)

Hello, everyone,

One of our heros, Wangari Maathai, died today at the age of 71. In the early years of the symposium, we often told Wangari's hummingbird story. Some of us had the privilege of meeting her at Thomas Berry's memorial service at St. John the Divine two years ago.

Here's a wonderful version of Wangari telling the story:

For the hummingbird in all of us,

Judy
