CONGREGATION C

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTHS
CONTEXTUAL COMPONENT: GLOBAL SOCIAL VISION

PRIMARY VISION: The primary component of the new myth for the postmodern man is secular images expressed in verbal and visual symbols which relate him to global mission and recreate interior selfconsciousness.

SECONDARY VISION: 1) The first component is refurbished primal stories that allow man to experience an authentic relationship to history, past and present; for example reeducating human beings to the context of postmodern man understanding living in a universe as a glorious happening. 2) The second component is SelfConsciousness Paradigm Rehearsals such as Daily Office, morality plays, and cabaret which are designed to overtly engage human beings in rehearsal of his relationship to the mystery and neighbor and is a dramatization of essential mythologizing.

3) The third component is Global Community Consciousness to reflect Inclusive Myth which will be freighted to the masses by community events, such as festivals and celebrations, which hold the tension of the global rebirthing new consciousness of man's images and stories allowing him to see his possibility and his future in the manifestation of the community.

4) The final component is Solitary Interior Exercises

which are an individual dramatization of the Daily Office one cabaret which allows man to experience the deeps of his being in relation to the inclusive happenings of his existence.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTHS

CONTEXTUAL COMPONENT: GLOBAL SOCIAL CONTRADICTION

PRIMARY CONTRADICTION: UNSELFCONSCIOUS GLOBAL MYTHOLOGY: The primary contradiction of Inclusive Myths is that present myths reinforce old societal paradigms, blocking man from affirming his emerging vision of the future

SECONDARY CONTRADICTION:

1) UNSELFCONSCIOUS GLOBAL HISTORY: Educational structures foster a reduced vision of the historical process, which denies a common human destiny.

2) SUPERFICIAL GLOBAL COVENANT: Images of covenant have collapsed resulting in a superficial understanding of human interrelatedness and responsibility.

3) PREDOMINATING ECONOMIC SYMBOLOGY: Current global symbols are grounded in the economic and create the false mythology that only those who are financially "well off" are capable of fully participating in humanness.

4) ECONOMICALLY DOMINATED VISION: Current visions of the future are rooted in the economic and are couched in economic language, leading to the creation of a lifestyle based on the economic dimension of life and denying the cultural and reducing the political to a supportive role to the economic.

CONTEXTUAL COMPONENT: IMPACT ARENA PRIMARY IMPACT ARENA: RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS: The primary impact arena for Inclusive Myth is the Religious Organization (including quasireligions of prevailing secular ideologies) because it is the acknowledged guardian of the Myth and provides grassroots channels for disseminating the local/global vision.

SECONDARY IMPACT ARENA:

1) BUSINESS COMMUNITY: The atmosphere among business leaders is open to the insight that the market place has expanded from the exchange of goods for profit to serving the need for interchange of materials and service for the common good of all.

2) GOVERNMENTAL STRUCTURES: Government of every type impinges on the lives of people at so many points that the guild is offered a vast opportunity for using government structures to encourage the humanizing process.

3) MEDIA PERSONNEL: One impact arena is Media Personnel, such as journalists, advertisers, news commentators and secular artists, skilled at using art forms and word images that discern the present times and point to the future and have instant access to global grassroots.

4) EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: So widespread is the fabric of educational institutions and so universal is the current ferment in education that the guild at every level is afforded a field for effective infusion of the new universal operative myth into the world.

MYTHOLOGY

PARAMOUNT TACTIC: FORMING SOCIETAL IMAGES

The intent of this tactic is the enabling of formation of necessary societal images if man is to create an awareness of community/global relationships and responsibility. Present myths reinforce old societal paradigms, blocking man from affirming his emerging vision of the future. New societal image a are needed to create the new secular myth. These symbols will allow him to relate to the globe as mission and will provide local man a model for transforming what he knows into meaningful images for societal engagement. These secular images will be presented verbally and visually through such forms as courses, lectures, art forma and intentional use of media. The context of these forma will be the utilization of imaginal teaching methodologies that give a person competency in discerning his situation in a global framework. Such methods as art form conversations can be used in local gatherings to bring to awareness one's spiritual depths and thus the foundation on which he stands. Myth writing is another method that can be used in building the story out of which one lives. Problemsolving units are also helpful in allowing one to get a grasp of his current situation and a direction for the future. Also, visual symbols can be utilized to reinforce the globality of man' s presence in and his responsibility for the world community. The LENS course is one example of a methodology that utilizes these various methods. These activities produce profound awakenment in the area of inclusive Myths as man begins to recreate a comprehensive self-conscious stance.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PRIMARY TACTIC: INTENTIONALIZING CORPORATE ICONS

Creating intentional corporate icons will play a key role in uniting local communities within the global vision. The intent is to allow local communities to participate in the forming of a global understanding within their particular setting. This understanding is an obvious condition that needs to be reached in order for local man to see that all the earth belongs to all the people. The forms that these intentional corporate icons can take will be varied and diverse, but all will be based upon engaging local communities in global icon image creation. This will serve to expand one' s understanding of the world and his relationship within the broader world community. The content of this activity will be that of community gatherings to acknowledge and celebrate a global icon. An example of this would be a community celebration to dedicate a global art figure in a park, or any other prominent community location. For instance, recently in Boston, there was a public celebration marking the publishing of the new Ecumenical Bible. These activities serve to awaken community interest to inclusive myths by pointing to diverse ways of bringing to self consciousness the necessity and means of creating the postmodern secular story.

The form this rehearsal will take will be holding evens a that illuminate those metaphors through social dramas. The content of these events will be stories or events that allow individuals to draw on their own understanding of life and release them to new visions of our time. Examples of these dramas plays, movies, community celebrations that "focus in" on specific themes, etc. are all examples of social dramas to be utilized. Such movies as "One Flew Over the Cuckoo 'a Nest," "Man of LaMancha" or "2001 Space Odyssey" are examples of social dramas that throw man into a common selfconscious understanding of 20th century life. PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: FORMING SOCIETAL IMAGES

PRIMARY TACTIC: PERMEATING DISSEMINATION SCHEMES

The intent of Permeating Dissemination Schemes is to catalyze postmodern images implementing techniques of massive impactment in a comprehensive publication's design. It is obvious that if any radical change in inclusive myths is to take place through community recontextualization. This process can be facilitated through widespread dissemination schemes that can easily by carried out in local communities. The content of these schemes is realized through the use of visual rend verbal images and symbols that carry with them reminders about man's relatedness to the globe and his responsibility for it. Through local structures, such as religious organizations, the business community government structures, intentional information media, and educational institutions, broad areas can be reached as they serve to disseminate these symbols throughout communities. in order to implement the awareness of new global imagery by sharing information of local significance from around the world on key issues in a public area such as a business office, for example the acknowledgment of Earth Day accomplishes awakenment in Inclusive Myths.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: FORMING SOCIETAL IMAGES

PRIMARY TACTIC: TRANSFORMING MUNDANE OCCASIONS

Across the globe 20th Century man experiences the grinding mundanity of everyday living. Modernized developing of traditional cultures do not afford man the kind of images and models that he needs in order to appropriate and disclose the significance of his daily activities. For man to recreate his selfconscious interior deeps in relation to the inclusive happenings of his existence, we must begin with Transforming Mundane Occasions, the rehearsing of the significance of every day activities. The intent of this activity is to allow every person to realize the transparency of his local situation in relationship to that of the human global situation. The context of these events would be in rehearsing one's life in a form that speaks both to the particular and universal experiences of everyman. Daily rituals such as the Daily office and the solitary office, and corporate rehearsals in such places as schools, business offices, etc., can be effective means of allowing men to experience the deeps of his being with that relationship to the inclusive happenings of his existence. Designing leisure time in order to reimage it as intentionally planned time by creating a tirneline for a 2 week vacation period for example, including symbols, study and celebrative activities accomplishes awakenment in Inclusive Myths.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: FORMING SOCIETAL IMAGES

PRIMARY TACTIC: AUTHENTICATING HUMAN STYLE

Today there seems to be a lack of images and examples of what an authentic human style is. There are few stories that allow men to experience his relationship to the past, present and future. And there is no real effort, at this time, to forge out the kind of stories that are required if man is going to have creative patterns to exemplify his style of life. If man is to recover traditional and invent postmodern heroes, Authentic Human style is a must. The intent of this exemplifying style is to image before people the kind of human style that is possible for all persons to embody. The form of this can be in the creation of hero stories in community schools and local religious or community gatherings. The content of these new stories and/or the recovery of post traditions is that of men who dare to risk themselves for others. An example of such story is that of John Henry or an equivalent cultural hero. These stories accomplish awakenment in inclusive myths by holding before persons examples of an authentic human style.

STRATEGIC ARENA: PRIMAL CARE

MASTER STRATEGY: ARTICULATING MYTHOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK

PARAMOUNT TACTIC: REHEARSING COMMON RITES

The intent of this tactic is to hold every man before his perpetual encounter with the final meaning of life, seeing that this kind of encounter releases him to engage significantly in care for the globe within his particular situation, which rehearses his responsibility for delivering all the earth to all the people. This tactic takes the form of short selfconscious rituals that go on amidst everyday social events. These rituals will take on various forms: such as liturgy, celebrations, commissionings, sendouts, and accountability/absolution. The content of the rituals includes the rehearsal of the group's decision to covenant together to pull off the necessary task, the decision to live out of their corporate vision of the human possibility of the entire globe as acted out in their local situation, and the necessary short courses that catalyze spiritized involvement in the missional thrust. Within the local community, this tactic would be manifested in a street celebration of the opening of a community health outpost that would open with a liturgy, include the commissioning of the outpost staff, hold symbolic accountability/absolution and end with a sendout. This tactic produces care through the articulation and acting out of the secular methodological framework.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: REHEARSING COMMON RITES

PRIMARY TACTIC: RITUALIZING COMMON LIFE

A crucial dimension in the formation of an inclusive myth for society is held in the primary tactic. This will rehearse through ritual dramatization in public ceremonies, the common 'heritage of a community, its origin and aim, and its sociological story. The form of this tactic is manifested in communal symbolic gatherings. The tactic includes the necessary rituals, cranes and stories that are essential to investing power and significance in the symbolic event. For example, this story of how an African tribe observes rite of passage for its youth, illustrates the power of symbols. When the tribal youth comes to the age of manhood, he mounts the tall tower where his feet are tightly bound with strong vines. He leaps headlong toward the ground and the moment before his head hits the ground, the vines go taut. He has completed his rite of passage into manhood, according to tribal law. In this bold event, both the youth and the community recapture their ancestral fear and fascination with the great mystery of life, and in the celebration afterward, they dance to this sign of an embraced resolve to seize life and leap into it amid all the inherent dangers.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

INTENTIONALIZING GROUP GATHERINGS

Intentionalizing group gatherings in order to re image covenantal relations by formalizing openings and closings in Community Social Groups, for example, opening and closing rituals accomplishes care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

ENGAGING SIGNIFICANT COMMUNICATION

Engaging significant communication in order to recontext dialogue by conversation methods in established community groups, for example song conversations in Lions Club, accomplishes care in Inclusive Myth.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: REHEARSING COMMON RITES

PRIMARY TACTIC.

SYMBOLIZING SUPPORT SYSTEM

Today man lives in a global society, a fact he has not fully appropriated. The emergence of this phenomenon consciousness needs to be reinforced around the world through the development of a symbolic support system. This system would serve to hold before each local individual the constantly emerging story of that community and to affirm the individual about who he is at this particular moment in history. Such a system should enable local man to creatively decide the future out of a context of positive, global, secular stance through a basic understanding of the reality of life.. This tactic could be acted out in local groups such garden clubs, civic groups (Kiwanis, Rotary, business groups (Chamber of Commerce), church bodies, professional organizations and business offices. The form taken for this tactic would be rituals for opening and closing meetings and for special occasions, art form conversations, workshopping, lectures, and corporate viewing of cultural activities. For example, any one of these groups might appropriate in n book review of "The Ronin", followed by an art form conversation. Organized celebrations could be moved in this direction for many

segments of the community. This tactic cares for individuals

SECONDARY TACTIC:

USING CABARET CONCEPT

Using cabaret concept in order to engage people in care for others by eyeing aspects of life through music, comedy and expose applicable to government, religion, etc., for example, satire of the Grid Iron show accomplishes care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

USING VISUAL ARTS

Using visual arts in order to raise to consciousness those primal images inherent in every man by creating an art show in the local community for example a special showing of the important works of Picasso accomplishing primal care in Inclusive Myths.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: REHEARSING COMMON RITES

PRIMARY TACTIC: FORGING GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNES

Today man's awareness of his global surrounding and the various life styles found within them is extremely limited. In order to bring more widespread comprehension of other countries around the world, the Forging of Global Consciousness must be initiated. Through this initiation of consciousness, an can better understand the many cultures and civilizations which have been injected into life throughout the vast ages of the emergence of man. Festivals and celebrations around the globe are being instigated to share the stories connected with the history of each style of life developed. Within the framework of these extravaganzas, song, dance, and drama express the various life cycles that have been birthed out of the past. An example of this tactic is the use of the Mexican cultural theme in a French Regional Church Council in Paris. Through this exhibition of a foreign culture such as Mexico, the French people are able to learn more about and better understand the ways of a people other than the Frenchman. The breaking of pinata and the Mexican Hat dance are two of the many traditions that are performed as a part of that civilizations existence.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

EXPANDING WORLD LOCALITY

Expanding world locality in order to make local man aware of his linkage to global happenings by having community events in a global context, for example, sister city celebrations which accomplishes care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

CREATING COMPREHENSIVE IMAGE

Encountering cultural otherness in order to expand community consciousness by traveling on a world tour, for example, Global Odyssey accomplishes care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

EMBODYING GLOBAL IMPACT

Embodying global impact in order to solidify community responsibility by communicating in a global reformulation network by a local/global publication, for example, the 5th City Voice accomplishes care in Inclusive Myth.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: REHEARSING COMMON RITES

PRIMARY TACTIC: PRIMARY TACTIC: BUILDING CORPORATE POWER

Man today senses that he is caught between society's collapsing images and some fresh emerging, yet undefined future vision. Building corporate power is the primary tactic within inclusive myths that allows man to see his own future related to his local/global society. The guild gives man a structural form through which he can objectify his former individualistic self to engage his unique talents in becoming a corporate thrust in his community. For example, a small group from a sociology class meets once a week to discuss global affairs as they relate to their class work. Through this corporate encounter, each member develops insights into the depth meaning of life itself. At the same time, the group is becoming the guild a group of people that have charged themselves with the responsibility of broadening the context, of the sociology class with their insights gained from corporate discussion. The primary tactic of building corporate power uses visual and verbal symbols to enable man to recreate his interior selfconsciousness into a related corporate thrust operating in the arena of primal care for his community,

SECONDARY TACTIC:

INTENSIFYING CORPORATE SPACE

Intensifying corporate space awareness in order to emphasize need for corporate decision making for spatial use patterns by telling stories of historical development of spatial use patterns and their motivating vision in local guild and cadre meetings, for example, stories of development of roads, parks, civic centers accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

INTENSIFYING CORPORATE POWER

Intensifying corporate power awareness in order to emphasize need for corporate decision making even in supposedly private choices by dramatizing current disputes over public/ private rights in guild and cadre me sings for example, discussions of land use, accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

INTENSIFYING LOCAL/GLOBAL RELEVANCE

Intensifying local/global relevance in order to emphasize local corporate responsibility to globe by forming rites indicating specific influences of local area on other areas in guild and cadre meetings for example, local inventions, exports to other areas, prominent persons with local backgrounds accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myths.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

CREATIING COMMON MEMORY Creating common memory in order to facilitate corporate awareness and depth analysis by maintaining and ritualizing archive of corporate events by guilds and cadres, for example maintaining and using log books, periodic activity reports, and calendars accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

PRESSURE POINT: INCLUSIVE MYTH

PARAMOUNT ARENA: REHEARSING COMMON RITES

PRIMARY TACTIC: DEEPENING JOURNEY AWARNESS

Twentieth Century man is crying out for a way to take a depth relationship to his solitary journey. Deepening Journey Awareness is the Primary Tactic within Inclusive Myths that meets this need. In actualizing this tactic, man will sense himself as a contingent being in his relationship to the unsynonymous in life and: that this experience is not his alone, but is his individual reflection of the depth human journey. Deepening journey awareness takes the form of spirit quote books and novels designed to catalyze individual reflections by leaving the reader with images and quotes that help him to mark the different phases of his journey. The necessary content of the spirit quote books includes: Wild images (archaic, present and future) historical stories (i.e. Luther, St. Francis ); and a poetic rather than prosaic style. Saviors of God by Nikos Kazanzatkis is an example of the kind of spirit quote book needed to actualize this tactic. Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Pursuit of Loneliness by Phillip Slater are other examples. This tactic wild provide the reflective images needed to accomplish primal care relative to man's spirit journey.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

ASSISTING HUMAN RECOGNITION

Assisting human recognition of the reality called "God" in order to ground this secularly in each man's life, by use of the secular language and culture of each locale in a manner honoring that culture, for example, a display of local art arranged in any country of the world conveying the sociological concept of God accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

INTENSIFYING LIFE DYNAMICS

Intensifying life dynamics in order to stand before the utter significance of every mundane situation by the usage of secular ritual and symbol in a family meeting, for example, an opening to the family's dinner meal accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

IMPACTING CURRENT AFFAIRS

Impacting current affairs for local man provides daily significant global information in order to expand his awareness of events affecting his life, by use of mass media in areas reached by this method and b; posting visual news in news centers established in villages and rural a areas of the globe accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

DESIGNING SECULAR SOLITARIES

Designing secular solitaries in order to give man necessary tools that enable him to stand amidst the collapse of our times by providing an image of every man's resurgence in an imaginal format, for example using secular occupation travel time for daily timelining accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.

SECONDARY TACTIC:

VISIONING FUTURE MODEL.

Visioning future model in order to hold local man accountable to a thousand year model of building the earth by demonstrating the relationship of the past to the future in a concrete design, for example, celebration of the opening of a community historical center which also has a future plan accomplishes primal care in Inclusive Myth.
