RELIGIOUS HOUSE INTERNAL OPERATIONS
INTRODUCTION
MISSION

CONTEXT

The mission is not just a priority; it is that for which a Religious House exists. There is no "internal life" separate from the mission. However, daily practical forms that deliver colleagues to an authentic style of engagement need to be spelled out. The Manual describes the Internal Life Operations of the House in the presupposed context of mission as the practical forms of the Order's presence as a corporate life style experiment. The four major categories of the Internal Life Operations are: Corporate Structures; House Practics; Wisdom Dynamic; and Symbolic Life. Four aspects of each of these categories are included in the Manual, each with its accompanying practical forms.
CORPORATE

STRUCTURES

Corporate Structure forms included in the Manual are: Internal Constructs time designs, enablement team rotation chart, station and bureaucracy assignment charts; Extended Relations hospitality guidelines, public relations, legal status, Order contacts; Family Structures missional presuppositions, family covenants, family meetings, family finances; and Priorship Roles symbolic head, practical servant, second prior roles, and intern year journey. These ordered internal relationships are the practical form of the everyday workings of the House.
SYMBOLIC

LIFE

Symbolic Life forms included in the Manual are: Cultic Acts house church, daily office, canonical hours, basic rituals ;Spirit Exercises objectifying solitaries, objectifying corporates, objectifying journeys, missional discontinuity. Primal Decor - historical church, historical order, liturgical year, art forms; and Secular Mythology secular symbols, movement songs, other world, and Week I II rationale. This is the central arena of Religious House Internal Operations in that these symbolic forms provide the way for colleagues to rehearse the Faith story out of which they have chosen to live.
WISDOM

DYNAMIC

Wisdom Dynamic forms included in the Manual are: Common Memory collegium rationale, mission reflections, order study, document distribution; Order Methods - basic methods, curriculum building, quarterly evaluation, consensus rationale; Mission Research PSU dynamic, research rationale, global research net, house library; and Phase Context role phaseology, tracking systems, children's training and youth deployment. These forms enable the intellectual development and practical research and evaluation of the House to continue the process of creating the common memory of the Historical Order.

HOUSE

PRACTICS

House Practics forms included in the Manual are: Financial Methods house budget, funds management, accounting system, family enablement; House Management - food service, maintenance program, transportation model, emergency procedures; Materials Coordination file records, office supplies, research documents, storage facilities) Space Design floor plan, housing assignments, interior decorating, and housing values. These practice forms enable the basic provisions for House sustenance and physical order to be carried out on a continuing basis.
PRACTICAL MANUALThe Religious House Manual: Internal Life Operations contains a comprehensive compilation of the practical forms of the internally ordered life of the Historical Order. These forms are the vehicles of practical, everyday human life which deliver colleagues to radical engagement in mission. The Manual includes a gestalt of practical constructs, formats, instructs, guidelines, charts, diagrams and instruments that brings a decade of movemental experimentation into summary form. In particular, this compilation pulls together the corporate consciousness of the Movement relative to its practical forms in the Religious House Experiment, Internal Life. It is an invaluable resource for new houses and it marks the achievement of describing the Movement's practical manifestation for the 20 Year March ofthe Great Turn.
