Isobel,
Seeing your message on the listserve I just had to send you a note. I'm very glad to hear that Catherine is a gardener. I hope she, along with Peter and Rebecca and yourselves, are doing well.
Here in Houston, we are doing minimal maintenance on our garden and just trying to keep everything watered sufficiently to stay alive. While I bring my own experience of growing up in East Texas to it, my wife, who is Irish, but born and raised in England, brings the English gardening perspective to our plot. We have had enough rain to keep things fairly lush, so we are blessed with flowers from bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani and other tropical plants at present.
My very best to you and Jim,
Steve Rhea
