[Oe List ...] Assistance Request - a bit of history

It seems that music for "Journey On" has been found. Good. I am just back
from traavelling and catching up on mail. This may be of interest. I was in
Darwin (Australia) on Sunday evening and met again the author of "Journey
On" - words and music. He is Bilanya Garrawitja, an Aboriginal elder and
Uniting Church minister at Milingimbi on the coast of Arnhem Land. Some time
ago visiting his place, he told me that he "gave" the song to Kaye Hayes and
Russell Campbell in 1970 when they were assigned to work in Arnhem Land with
the (then) Methodist Church. This may have been at wehat was then known as
Elcho Island (hence the name for the tune). (It is now known by its
Indigenous name - Galiwinku)

There is something vey touching that it should be sang at a funeral service
for Mary Lou.

Mary Lou would like to have the singing of Journey On as a part of her
memorial service.  The service will be at the chapel of the Presbyterian
Home and the minister there has suggested that people will not be able to do
well without notes.

Since I can't read notes, it has never been a very big issue for me, but I
am wondering if anyone has music written down for Journey On.  In some of
our books the tune was listed as Elcho or Elco Island.  If no such written
record exists, I may be back asking who can write them.

Mary Lou carries on with a wonderful sense of humor and increasing despair.
She is now on hospice level care and 24 hour nursing.

I will appreciate any assistance.
