Subject: [Oe List ...] Austin workshop
Forwarded by Jann McGuire. Thought some of you in the Austin area might be
interested. I had classes with Chuck Ragland in the Univ. of Creation
Spirituality D.Min. program.
Greetings!
I am sending this announcement to you in the interest of furthering
worldwide efforts to bridge religious divides by celebrating the
common ground of our spiritual being, and building interspiritual
community.
Enclosed is an announcement of an important workshop on
InterSpiritual Activism to be held at The Crossings in Austin, Sept.
9-11. There will also be a free introductory session - a sampler -
next week on Thursday, Aug. 18th.
I sincerely hope you can join us for either or both events, and I
look forward to seeing you at The Crossings.
As you may be aware, Matt Fox has been a featured as a faculty
member at The Crossings in the past. If you aren't familiar with The
Crossings, it is a progressive learning center, meeting place, and
wellness spa located just outside of Austin. If you can, please
take a few minutes to become acquainted via their website at
www.thecrossingsaustin.com.
Namaste,
Chuck Ragland
Former UCS DMin Student (1998-2001)
Member of The Crossings' Advisory Board

Common Ground: An Experience of InterSpiritual Activism
Father Thomas Keating, Joan Borysenko, Betty Sue Flowers,
Bill (Gorakh) Hayashi, Karen Drucker, Oscar Miro-Quesada
SEPTEMBER 09 – 11, 05
The Crossings - Austin, TX
Course: 07302-045
Tuition: $275 (see website for accommodation and commuter options)
Join us at this third gathering of Common Ground, where we will co-
create an interfaith community through shared ritual, group creative
process, guided experiential practices, and dialogues of discovery.
Together we will explore structures, methods, and principles for
InterSpiritual activism, so that we may move the work of world peace
forward as a cohesive unit. This meeting will also be a tribute to
Brother Wayne Teasdale, who inspired and guided the founding of both
InterSpiritual Dialogue (ISD) and Common Ground, and who
transitioned last year. Some of Brother Wayne's core teachings will
be illuminated through experiential meditation and contemplation. In
addition to presenters Keating, Borysenko, Flowers, and Hayashi,
representatives of constituencies that Wayne supported will voice
their remembrances.
Workshop Notes
Student discount available. Senior discount available. Recommended
reading: Wayne Teasdale, The Mystic Heart, The Mystic Hours; John
Shelby, Seven Masters, One Path; and Joseph Jaworski & Betty Sue
