George, I have read and studied all three books and I agree with your
recommendation 100 + %
Another book that caught me by surprise is "Secrets from the Lost Bible" by
Kenneth Hanson. (isbn 1-57178-168-4)
This book deals with many of the newly found but ancient scrolls that have
come to light in the past century. He is primarily dealing with the Kabbalah
(Mysticism) via the spirituality of the four worlds: which are
1. The world of knowing -- Know who you are,
2. The world of being -- Be true to yourself and the divine image that is in
you,
3. The world of feeling -- Reach out authentically with you feelings, and
4. The world of doing -- Dare to do great things.
I found the book to very rewarding, easy to read & understand, and to chart.

Subject: [Oe List ...] Summer reading
If you're looking for good reading for the summer try these:
"In Search of Paul," John Dominic Crossan and Jonathan L. Reed - this
will be a classic. Crossan, the eminent historical Jesus scholar,
combines with Reed, expert in Biblical archaeology to use the latest
techniques and findings to address the question, did Paul invent
Christianity?
"The Sins of Scripture," John Shelby Spong, excellent piece, even Bill
O'Reilly writes a recommendation. Good scholarship.
"From Jesus To Christianity," L. Michael White, very good reading of
history of the texts and has the latest scholarship.
All the best
