One of the treats of moving is going through boxes that haven't been
opened in years. I opened a box of items marked "Australia" and
found among the memoribilia a yellowed magazine: The Australian
Woman's Weekly, April 1978. I was about to pitch it out when I saw a
note on the front directing me to a page. When I turned to that
page, there, smiling back at me, was Kate St. Clair. We had only that
week learned of her death and I was writing a note to the boys about
my memories of her in Australia with the Global Womens Forum. Now I
had an entire magazine to send them with a wonderful article about
their mom. It was one of those special moments when I felt really
connected to a colleague's presence in a new way. I thought many of
you would want to see this.
[Note from TW: the following is a link to the article about Kate
St.Clair that Lynda mentioned above. You will need Microsoft Word to

This week as we have learned of the deaths of Margaret Ennis and
Letty Lynn Maloney, I am reminded of the expenditure of these other
women in our common journey and give deep thanks for their gifts to
our lives. Reading memories from various ones who worked more
directly with them calls my memories more to the forefront. Thank
you for this avenue of corporate celebration. Several old songs
come to me as care: One is "Those who die on the March, shall renew
their strength. They shall mount up on wings as eagles. They shall
run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Help us, Lord,
Help us, Lord, in Thy way." Journey on, dear colleagues.
