[Oe List ...] Vance

    One could not know Vance in the early days without real or imagined battles with Charles Lingo.  It was part of who he was.  But so was caring, love for kids and thoughtful colleagueship.  It didn't stop in the eighties:  the first message of welcome that we received when we moved to Pennsylvania last April was from Vance Engelmann.  After all, he was our neighbor in Pittsburgh!
    May his goodness and service outlast us all!
