My Relatives (as a Native American addressed us at the New Delhi IERD),

My Dear Relatives, especially Paula, Marge, Del, Donna, Justin and all those close to you in love,

I just read all my email since Wednesday so I read Marge's news and prayer requests, but also the loving responses from this community.

This is hard time, but hardest for those of us caught in unsurity. My eighty year old mother and I drove to Abilene and Albany to care for family graves a week before Christmas. We also visited her older friend and aunt, both in their 90s. Mother had been to four funerals the previous two weeks.

I was struck by the here and now attitudes of the three women. Of their acceptance in the midst of life we are in death. And of their confidence that this death is not the end.

I love Sunny's image of being in jolly conversation with God!

One of the losses in my mom's life was a fellow volunteer at the Baptist camp where she works. He'd died at the lake front while collecting his trout line catch. His friends are agreed that was where he wanted to be...

May the warmth of God's Light and Love surround and care for you all.

Holding you in Light and Love,

Mary Hampton
