Dear Colleagues,
Interestingly enough, after writing the paragraph that follows, I checked my 
Sent Mail box to see if my correctly addressed e-mail (events at c-span.org) was 
sent to C-Span.  Although it vanished (not even in my Drafts box, but 
fortunately I had copied it) it did not go through.  I tried again, still no 
luck, nor was there any notice from Mailer Daemon that either was undeliverable.  
I looked up theC-Span website to see if the crimes against humanity Commission 
of Inquiry gave us the correct address--and they did.  I called C-Span, they 
checked, and it's working for them, so they gave me the Assignment Desk fax no.:  
202-737-6226.  Hope this helps if any of you who write have similar 
difficulties.

What follows this paragraph is the long e-mail that I just sent to C-Span.  At 
the end of this e-mail is the e-mail just received from the crimes against 
humanity Commission of Inquiry that prompted me to write to C-Span.  Others 
among you who feel prompted to do likewise, feel free to copy any or all of my 
message and tell C-Span up front that you are one of hundreds of colleagues to 
whom I have given permission to do so.  We must speak up.

May I add my 69-year-old voice to those begging C-Span to telecast-if not live, 
then tomorrow--the Commission of Inquiry's investigation into the Bush 
Administration's Crimes Against Humanity?

Let C-Span dare to warn Americans and world citizens who are without memory, 
compassion, or concern:
Those who are without memory of the recent past-Germany, that other fascist 
state, and the millions who died unspeakable deaths.
Those who are without compassion for the “other”-the American soldiers without 
proper armor who take the risks and die for oil, and the 100,000-plus Muslim 
men, women, and children who have been slaughtered on the way to billion-dollar 
profits.
And those who are without concern for the planet's survival as we fill the world 
with greenhouse gases and leave our children and grandchildren a devastating 
legacy of selfish unconcern that cannot be undone.

Let C-Span dare to break through media fear and business as usual to allow the 
Commission of Inquiry let the world see that we are being driven by a deaf, 
dumb, and blind Neo-Con puppet in the White House and those who put him there to 
do their will and the will of their rich friends.

Particularly because of global warming, this is a moment in history unlike any 
other.  There must be someone in a leadership position at C-Span who sees this 
or at least intuits it vaguely.  

We beg C-Span to take a monumental risk on behalf of the increasing number of 
Americans and world citizens who see through the Neo-Con cabal.  We beg you to 
do the deed that will set C-Span apart from the purveyors of standard television 
“news.”  We beg C-Span to look into the eyes of orphaned (here and abroad), 
dying, and slaughtered “collateral damage” children and ask why America is 
alienating more and more countries as we strut our stuff on the global stage.

Will whoever at C-Span first reads this e-mail send it on up?  Will whoever 
reads it next do likewise?  Will it eventually reach the CEO, the Chairman?  
Will someone even dare to respond to this e-mail with action or with the reasons 
why my request is deemed unreasonable and unprofitable and cannot be seriously 
discussed around the decision-making table?  Please do not leave me with nothing 
but a formulaic thank you or think that I will be grateful that you at least 
read it through and did not delete it.
