[Oe List ...] Death of Wilford Bailey

We knew Will well and were members of Casa View UMC while in Dallas. We 
sent this note:

We join the colleagues of Casa View United Methodist Church, both near and 
far, in celebrating the completed life of Will Bailey.

While his life had far more dimensions than any outsider could appreciate, 
one in particular made a lasting impression: his passion for faithful 
action. Will served in a time of theological ferment and insisted that the 
truths of the Christian faith must be clearly understood by himself and by 
the congregation. But knowing was not enough: action had to issue from 
understanding, and Will was ever on the forefront of doing, energetically 
backing whatever causes attempted to alleviate innocent suffering. Many 
were beneficiaries, both of the actions in which he engaged and of the role 
model he presented.

In recognition of the gift his life was to many, the affront it was to 
some, and the struggle it was for him, we join in affirming the faith to 
which he was witness: His life is wholly received and accepted by the 
mysterious One who is the source and end of life itself.

We're grateful for having known him, and celebrate the completion of his 
journey.
