I adored Brian.  We were always getting into mischief together.  One time of
the hundred times we were painting in the Kemper Building, Brian and I were
returning the paint cans to "Paint Alley" in the basement on one of those
rickety dish carts from the kitchen.  We were laughing and carrying on when
one of the cans of paint toppled off the cart and spilled all over the
floor.  Around the corner came the Engineer who had come with the building
and he always acted like he owned the building.  He started yelling at the
two of us who stood sheepishly like a couple of 10 year olds with red faces
starring at the ground.  He told us to clean up every bit of that paint and
do it in a hurry!  You can just bet we did it!   And after the Engineer
disappeared, we laughed ourselves silly.  

 

I will miss the twinkle in his eye when he humorously saw life from another
perspective.
