Like Bob, I'd like to have a look at the manual for The Left Hand of God.  I 
like the title - echoes of left-footers (or Paddies), left-handers having 
difficulties with knives and forks, and Ursula le Guin's The Left Hand of 
Darkness (read a long time ago, but I do remember "kemmering").
