I did try to send the following message only to Jann and Fred at the address given on original message - and it bounced.  Not sure what's happening, but wanted to get it to them.  

We're dealing with quite a flood in this area - highest water ever recorded.  I'm personally OK - just wet carpet in basement.  Boil water, sewage plant damaged, highways & bridges washed out, many losing everything.  Is anyone else in a flooded area?  I'm taking a break from basement work to see Al Gore's movie this afternoon.

Hello Jann and Fred,

I can't recall whether I've met you or not (if so, in Chicago summer research assemblies?).  But I've often appreciated your postings on this list serv.  You'll both be in my thoughts & prayers as Fred's surgery nears.  People on this list are such treasures!  Have a marvelous time with the Wise Wild Women.
