[Oe List ...] Pat Stewart's death

Pat Stewart died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at home with her family
surrounding her: Bob Stewart, Mike and Lisa Stewart and their children, John
and Noelle, Tim Stewart and wife, Jennifer Bauerle, Candi (daughter) and
Dave Delgardo, Candi’s daughter, Jessica Boone Disney. Pat’s services will
be Friday, November 10 at 1 p.m. in Sacramento. Pat was 80 years old. She
was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August. In May of this year, Pat’s
children gave her an 80th birthday party and all were in attendance. The day
before Pat died the family gathered, telling stories and singing. Pat and
Bob Stewart were on the Westside in Chicago during the riots of the summer
of 1967. Later, Bob’s church in San Francisco was part of the local church
experiment and Bob and Pat, Mike and Lisa, Candi, Chris and Tim were all
involved in the San Francisco house. David, Pat’s eldest, and I married in
Chicago at South House in 1972. We were introduced to each other by Chris.
Pat’s passions included writing, she was a published writer of children’s
stories and also of Sunday school lessons. She wrote a book for young teens
called 24 Hours for Free. Another passion was native American art and way of
life which is partly what brought her and Bob to Tucson early in their
careers, the children were in elementary school and younger, and later as
retirees in the Phoenix area. Pat and Bob were involved with Habitat for
Humanity in the Phoenix area. Pat got both her bachelor’s and later her
master’s degrees in teaching and her passion there was to teach the learning
disabled. She and Bob were wonderful family for me personally. Bob’s address
