Dear Colleagues,

Those of you who came to central California for the Richgrove HDP might be 
interested in this from yesterday's Porterville Recorder:  "The Richgrove 
Community Services District will donate a modular office bulding to the Tulare 
County Redevelopment Agency for the benefit of the Construction Trades Training 
Partnership program.  [. . .]  The agency's training program, administered 
through Community Services Employment Training, provide training in a range of 
in-demand construction trades while offering participants an opportunity to get a 
high school diploma and meeting the need for affordable housing.  [. . .] Each 
participant in the program assists in the construction of 20 to 30 mutual 
self-help housing projects sponsored by Self-Help Enterprises and Habitat for 
Humanity."  Richgrove has a Community Services District!  Self-Help Enterprises 
sent a representative to the IERD in India, and has helped people build 
thousands of houses since then.

It reminds me of the song about the tears of the sower and the songs of the 
reaper mingling together in joy.  By and by is here now!

Fred's eyes continue to shine through his illness, from which I still take 
hope.  He says to tell you he's fading.  I guess that's true, physically, but I 
rarely notice that gradual process because his spirit is still strong and 
present.  His strength and energy fluctuate from day to day.

We're enjoying a cool spell after many days of 100 degree plus weather, with 
rare clear air.  Hummingbirds are migrating through, keeping us entertained.
