To add to the memories of Don Clark:

Don is well remembered as an urbane, polished traveler on the Global Odyssey
and one of the older members of that group - he & I were in our late 30's.
Actually, the Odyssey was Don and Christina Welty's honeymoon. They were
married just before the trip. I remember cooking their rehearsal dinner or
maybe it was the college dinner. I still have the recipe for "Roast Beef Rue
Royale" that Christina chose.

Another memory comes from our time in Japan; I was in Osaka, they were in
Tokyo, circa 74-76. The Tokyo House became, under their priorship, became a
place where Japanese people felt welcome. The décor, the food, the programs
reflected the culture. It was a serene and welcoming place. Youth felt
welcome there and the house felt really alive. It was a model for some of
the other Houses. He saw the House as being there for the local people, not
just for the Americans who lived there.

Know that our thoughts and prayers are with Don's family at this time of
his completed life. We have many fond memories of Don, especially of
his pedagogy and our time with him on the Global Odyssey in 1970. Jim &
Alice Baumbach
