Salvation and Grace

One chill day, relatively late in the last century,
you wondered aloud if I really wanted to be happy.

Truth and consequences had never been so clear
and I found myself opting for a thorough overhaul.

I know that the journey has not been easy,
but I hope that you derive as much pleasure

from being an instrument of my salvation
as I from being the poster child of your grace.
