Subject: Meeting Summary Statement 11-28-07

Greetings Friends, ICA Colleagues and ToP Trainers around the world.

On November 28, 2007, leaders of theToP Trainers Network and the ICA-USA
Staff met in Chicago to initiate a co-planning effort to reconcile recent
struggles and to guide our decision-making on the road ahead.
We had a great time meeting each other and reaching a few points of agreement
to frame our dialogue. A one-page summary of our conversations is attached
for you to read and to share with others who may be interested.

We are also looking forward to a great gathering  in Durham, NC on January
4-7, 2008, which will include members of the ToP Trainers Network, ICA-USA Board
and Staff; ICAI representatives and ICA colleagues from the USA and Canada.
We welcome your input toward the agenda of that event, and anticipate an
inspiring time of interchange and planning. Come join us an help shape our new
directions! For more information on the ToP Trainers Meeting in Durham, see the
ICA-USA website: ica-usa.org. Registration deadline is December 20th.

Warm wishes for a fine Holiday Season

ICA-USA Staff and ToP Trainers Network Leaders - Meeting Summary
On November 28, 2007, a meeting took place at 4750 N. Sheridan, Chicago,
Illinois, between ICA-USA staff members (Nino Tillman, Felisia Wesson and Cheryl
Zaleski) and ToP Trainers Network leadership members (Marti Roach, Sherwood
Shankland and Deb Burnight). We started with extended personal introductions,
followed by productive conversations on the journey of our relationship. Doug
Druckenmiller was engaged to facilitate the four hour meeting.
The misunderstandings and turbulence of the past eighteen months, and the
disruptions to established relationships and ongoing business practices, were
recognized and acknowledged by everyone present. We acknowledged responsibility
for contributing to these difficulties and we also agreed that it is time to
move on and take positive next steps.
We agreed upon the need to clarify the residual grey areas in the
relationship between ICA-USA and the ToP Trainers Network and in the governance of ToP.
The first step is to designate a small task team comprised of ICA-USA staff and
leadership representatives of the ToP Trainers Network. The purpose of this
team will be to continue this co-planning effort to reach consensus on
policies and operating patterns that will guide ICA-USA and the ToP Trainers Network
in the advancement of ToP.
We affirmed the following guiding principles for collaboration between
ICA-USA and the ToP Trainers Network:
o Meetings that involve decisions that impact both parties will
effectively engage both parties.
o We will practice a spirit of transparency in all matters relating to
ToP (e.g. finances, staff roles, Network roles, etc.).
o We commit to supporting more efficient and respectful communication
patterns.
o We commit to co-developing and implementing over the next year a shared
governance model for ToP.

The spirit of this meeting was open, respectful and professional. We feel
that an important step forward has been taken to create a fresh start in this
journey. We are all looking forward to being present at the gathering in Durham,
NC on January 4-7, 2008, where we will continue our co-planning.

For ICA-USA: For the ToP Trainers Network:
          Nino Tillman Marti Roach
          Felisia Wesson Sherwood Shankland
          Cheryl Zaleski Deb Burnight
