Daughter Sarah Black Page, who was with us for a time in the KC House as a
youth in early 70's, has sent an obituary which I have asked Len to post on
the Repository on the page Those Who Died on the March under OE. In
addition to their service in Kenya and Peru, I was amazed to learn that
Virginia was the story lady on one of my favorite Saturday morning radio
shows "Let's Pretend" when I was a little girl. Any one else remember
hearing that program in the late 40's or very early 50's?
Their son Chris Black married Debbie Jaecks, who was a pre-teen in our house
in Lake Bluff around 1972. Chris died unexpectedly several years ago.

Sarah writes in part: "Despite all the inherent difficulties in caring for
someone with end stage Alzheimer's and someone else with chronic serious
pain and mobility limitations we were able to make it possible for them to
live together in their home until their deaths.
For my part, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be there for them
and provide what comfort and support as was possible with Becky and Meridith
and all the others who helped make the situation work as well as it could.
.... there is surely nothing but rightness in their passing. As surely as
death is part the human experience, these people lived well, loved well and
died well. I know also that these people have not suddenly stopped
existing. I will know them in whatever form they take and will continue to
love them."
We stand in gratitude for the life and service of this couple and for their
family. Journey on!!
