[Oe List ...] current dialog and a question

Hi Jon,
Your folks -- Tony and Ellery -- were among our favorite colleagues and
I trust they are comfortably settled in their new home.
I have deeply appreciated the input you and Shelly Hahn have offered to
this list serve over the past several years. I may have missed
remembering other "second generation" participants, but your voices are
always refreshing and relevant, from where I stand.
If there was a list serve established for a dialogue between the first
and second generations after the Vail 2000 gathering, I was unaware of
it. However, I would love to engage in a dialogue between our
generations, as there are so many wonderful young persons who touched my
life during the time I was gifted with the assignment of "EG." And with
those lives I would now love to reconnect.
I love the fact that Jane Sharpe (in Student House with Jon and Ben
Crocker and now an OBGYN doc) delivered our first grandson, Daniel.
Joe and I were recently blessed to visit with Rebecca Grow and Jeff
Krasnow and their beautiful twins, Isadora Cameron and Zachary Albert.
Long before I knew Nan and Bill Grow, I came to love Rebecca, the shining
star of grades 4-6 EG, West Side, Chicago, 1968-69, when I was but an
intern in the Order and spent almost every weekend with the wonderful
"legacies" of the Grows, Boivens and others. Years later Joe and I
reconnected with Patti Boiven in Maliwada, India and she often served as
"in loco parentis" for our kids (which they loved!) when we were
facilitating consults in other villages.
And the same day we met Rebecca and Jeff's twins, we had dinner with Nan
Bailey, whom we considered our first of many "adopted" daughters,
(assigned to us in the NY House) and someone who has continued over the
years to play an important role as Ben and Jon's "big sister," and now
dear friend.
I think we all have many perspectives to share and lots of topics to
explore across the generations. I hope we can figure out how this might
work.
Many thanks for your suggesting that we talk together.
With love,
Marilyn
