Funny, Cannonball was one of the us 12, And we were one of the first to
initiate an industry, but I have no recollection of any guide to get that done.
Sure would have helped though!

I believe I might have what you want. In is called "Local Industry Workbook
for Human Development Projects" I was on the team that developed several
versions of the manual during summer 77 and updated during 1978. This appears
to be a later version because it is typed and doesn't have any hand printed
pages like the earlier versions. that may mean it was the version that was
created before or after the IERD. It doesn't have a colored cover though. An
early version was used in the training weekends for the USA 12 in 1978 and in
the Economic Acceleration treks in 1977 and 1978. This one is 36 pages long
and is more a series of questionaires that one would use to analyze a given
situation on the ground.
The sections include:
Industry Feasibility
Product Feasibility
Capital Requirements
Promotion
Marketing
Production
Transportation
Personnel
I also have a Retail Store Manual for Human Development Projects that was
written in December of 1977.
Let me know if you want a copy and I will copy and mail to the address you
give me.

Subject: [Oe List ...] Looking for a Document
Hello,
I hope all is well with everyone.
I am looking for a document that was produced either by ICA or EI. It is a
document on how to start-up or to establish a business. I would suspect that
the document was produced to help businesses start in 5th City, but I cannot
be sure of that. I remember the document to be about sixty pages in length and
having a orange or brown cover. I think there was a reference to "Industry"
in the title.
I came home to Cleveland to look through all of my mother's (Emma Melton)
papers and the documents that Harold Williams bequeathed to her and I have not
found the document. Between she and Harold, there was a lot to look through.
I am asking you to look through your personal archives and see if you have a
copy of the document. If you have a copy, I would like to get in-touch with
you. I am willing to either pay you to photocopy the document yourself or if
you send it to me, I will photocopy the document and return it to you right
away. My address and telephone number are listed below.
Thank you for your help.
Grace and Peace,
Brady Melton
