Dear Boys--
It seems like only yesterday on the 3 1/2 floor of the Nunnery in Brussels. In the winter it was cold at such elevations in particular around Christmas. The heat never made it up that far.
Do you remember performing in, "The Crinch Who Stole Christmas?" What a treat. Santa Claus came as St. Nicholas, and for the Order Kids the Saint was skinny as a rail. What fun!
Oh, but the mystery of Christmas Night. The Belgium tradition was for the children to place their shoes outside the door for the helpers of the Dear Old Saint to honor or upbraid.
The Salmon's lived up the hall from the Wiegels, so it was with some anticipation that we got up early to look down the hall (next door?) to see what the Weigel boys received for Christmas.
When what to our wondrous eyes we observed, "COAL!"
Ah, well. At least the promise of heat for the Weigel household would be served for another day.
Merry Christmas Shaker and Dhondiram, or--if nothing else--Happy Birthday!. Ye warmed the cockles of our hearts. Now all we have to do is to figure out what the hell a "cockle" is.
Inner Peace.

PS:
a.. The phrase 'warm the cockles of one's heart' refererences to the ventricles of the heart (Latin: cochleae cordis) which is far too scientific. To transliterate it means the place where neighboring little boys crawl into the hearts of their neighbor/colleagues hearts like Dennis The Mennis. Now, go steal a cookie from the nun's kitchen! It's just off of the Collegium room.

Subject: [Oe List ...] Twins all grown up
"The twins", Shanker and Dhondiram Wiegel, turn 30 tomorrow. Both married, Shanker lives in Aurora, CO with his wife, Lisa and 2 small daughters, Molly and Miranda; Dhondi lives in Peoria, AZ with his wife Lariate and small son, Calvin.
If you have stories or greetings or wisdom to pass on, send them to me. I will collect and present them. 30. Hard for me to believe my children have grown. But . . .
Thanks, and thanks for all the care and attention and good will passed to them and our family over the years by this community around the world.

Will tomorrow be here soon? ... of course it will. Not once has tomorrow not been here, but what about yesterday? Where is it now? It will be gone to us . . . like today will be long gone ... When tomorrow comes around. -- Dodge Chatto 1975
