Hello John,
Thanks for your response.I feel the need to focus on the UN after some recent events have come right up to my "front burner."
I hope that you and Ann continue to enjoy a fulfilled and yet peaceful life in KL and Denver. Jim and I are soldiering on with the current set of joys and responsibilities- our grandchildren keep us in the fitness camp.... and our Federal Election has just been called- likely that our conservative PM will be returned, even tho half of us desperately are seeking something different and more human, after an 11 year dark and destructive journey. We'll just have to wait and see!
Grace and peace,
Isobel.

  Hi Isobel.

The prayer goes something like this:
Almighty God we humbly beseech Thee to direct the course of this world in accordance with Thy holy will. Prosper all councils which make for rightful peace; and guide and direct the leaders of the United Nations.
          Through Jesus Christ our lord.

It was in the Daily Office as the response to "Let us pray for the world."

    Hello David and dear colleagues,
Thank you, David for posting this. I found it very profound. I feel sure there is a state of being on the Other World Chart where I would want to place it.
Would someone know off by heart ( or could find it with not too much effort,) the prayer we used in the Daily Office to pray for the United Nations ? In our press recently there have been articles pointing out major weaknesses in the UN....over many years. I now I want to begin again my prayers for this organisation.

Our Uniting Church Synod met this week, and Jim was honoured as he came up to his 50 year Ordination Jubilee. Rob Duffy was also honoured, although he could not make the public event.
    Grace and peace,
    Isobel Bishop.
