[Oe List ...] Salmon: Song book

Putting 497 (or more) songs on an audio disk (or 6 - 10 audio disks) is daunting, but what a fun project. Shouldn't a self-selected number gather in a warm place during February (Jim Wiegel's front porch?) and just do it? I have the original Reunion 2000 songbook but only hard copy - my computer ate the digital copy years ago. Most of the songs came from a disk Marge Philbrook sent me when we were planning the reunion in 2000. If we were going to consider doing this, I think it is time to acknowledge the people who worked on the songs - I had no idea Russ Campbell had beeen instrumental in writing the Obedience song, for instance. It could be part of the accompanying material for the audio cd? DVD? Another example is that I had more or less forgotten the "Colors of My Life" song that was part of Kay Townley's memorial service, and it should be in the material as well.

I remember several discussions with Jean Long about getting into the archives and pulling together a song cd from the old order meetings, but I have not heard whether that has begun. I know that's her passion. She has been in Chicago all summer, but may be home soon. Let's keep this dialogue going. Did Russ also work on the Poverty song? I had always heard that the same person wrote both, and was thinking of a Bach melody for Chastity, but didn't get to it.

  Colleagues --
Several people have expressed interest in a hard copy of the Song Book. However, I note that an electronic version is available. Perhaps, that is a better answer to our need? How do we go about getting it?
Jim Weigle suggested the need to put all of our songs on audio-file. I believe this is a crucial activity, because so many of the song tunes will be lost to memory, in particular the Human Development Songs, if this is not done.
Where is Jean Long when we need her?
