Jim,

Yes,  I seem to remember that was a contemplative exercise.  It was, if I
recall, over and about the human condition and our response to innocent
suffering.  In this our personal issues are dramatically related to the
social context.

The one who has the exact wording on this is Packard.  George really has a
helpful memory on this.

Presently my fast is in its 5th day (to end after 7 days) and for sustenance
I am using a lemonade made of lemons, grade b maple syrup, and a pinch of
Cayenne pepper. No solid food and if caught without the lemonade, say in an
emergency when I am fading,  I drink tea or a small amount of juice

Since my fast is also a cleanse I use at least one drink with a tablespoon
of bentonite, a clay type mineral compound.  I also take one or two helpings
(servings) of Fiberwise.

My own overall mission in this effort is to re-educate myself in what hunger
is and what eating is in order to focus my consciousness.
