Jaime, 
     How does one say thank you for what you share with us, especially this 
last reflection?   I am bowled over by the present pain, the global 
connections, the history recalled, and your incredible gift with words that links time 
and place with all of us.   
     In the midst of it all, you bring back memories of my 24 years as a 
Sister of the Presentation of Mary (1954-78) and my colleagues from New England 
who lived in Toril and Davao City, where today the latter is no longer an 
outpost but the center of the apparently vibrant P I Province--while the Province 
that opened that "mission territory" over 50 years ago when I was a young nun, 
that Province of Manchester, NH with its ever expanding "infirmary" and 
retirement home, is literally dying of old age with scarcely a new recruit year after 
year.   
     How lucky those 6th   graders are, how fortunate the readers of your 
local paper who take the time to read your caring words and grounded reflection, 
and how fortunate we are that you choose to share the wealth and caring with 
us.   Jaime, on those weeks that you write, please share it with us.   Why not?
