[Oe List ...] Song, Story, Symbol -- a random question

As we look back at the Civil Rights movement, it was the story, song
and the symbols that sustained the marches, the spirit and moved our
country towards the first signs of integration. We noted as we march
in some of the Iraq war protests, there were only a few of us singing
- we did not become the same kind of bonded group as before. Our
(out there) society is void of songs, stories and symbols that give
us life and exude our energy and passion.

2 weeks ago our community held its annual meeting. Our instructions
for the meeting were to come with committee reports and for each
family unit to have "their 2 minutes of glory" with why/how they
loved living at Songaia. Most of the reports were in song and
recitations written just for the occasion. I'll share ours just
because it is on my computer, but the others were equally wonderful!
We were all overwhelmed in how our living together revitalizes and
renews our spirit and sends us back into the world to care for
others. There are so many other examples of how song, story and
symbol moves a group of folks. - I am going into a meeting and will
respond later.

Take care, Jim. You are loved.

Nancy
