Yes, in Park Ridge it was called the "University of Life".

As I read these messages, I am reminded of my first encounter with what I

"did she or didn't she?"
I was a member of a Methodist Church in Dallas circa 1960 (the name of which
escapes me right now - it's dangling just outside my brain) Our pastor, Bill
Holmes, had taken a course (probably PLC) at the Christian Faith and Life
Community in Austin at UT. He began a study group at the church. I don't
remember what he called it; it was one night a week for 5 or 6 weeks. My
husband & I took the first one. The course became our congregation's
membership training. It was strongly suggested to participate in the course
if you joined our congregation.
Later, when I lived in Oklahoma City, I was involved with a liberal,
multi-denominational group of church people who met together regularly about
church renewal. We went to an Ecumenical Institute Course (100
participants!) which I recognized as the same study I had done in Texas.
I'm thinking that maybe Don Jones did some sort of similar thing at Park
Ridge. Not the exact format as the RS-1 and perhaps called something else,
but tailored to the youth and using much of the RS-1/PLC content - thus the
uncertainty around the question - "did SHE take RS-1?"
And, hey, y'all, Happy Mardi Gras (tomorrow), Chinese New Year (Thursday),
and of course, love to you on Valentine's Day.

Don Warren, who lives here in Bloomington (former Dean
of the School of Education here at Indiana U.) taught
the course that Hillary took. I don't think it was
RS-1 as such, but certainly had some of the elements
in it. Could also be that Don Jones took courses at
the Institute and used the wisdom with his youth
group, but that is just speculation. Don Warren's role
is reported by Don himself.
