Kay Slattery Townley died last week.

She said a couple of months ago when we were visiting her that she wanted 
none of this "Send no flowers, but send contributions to..." nonsense when 
her time came. She wanted flowers, lots of flowers, flowers in every nook 
and cranny to celebrate her completed life.

That was vintage Kay as we knew her. She may not have been enslaved by the 
"finer things of life," but neither did she hold them in contempt.

We worked with her closely in Dallas and also in Chicago, and stayed in 
touch in Denver. In all those places she was energetic, passionate, and 
totally committed to the work of the Institute. She was a role-model 
embodiment of the secular religious, with the downbeat on the secular.

We'd guess that Gabriel, Michael, and all the other archangels will have 
their hands full with Kay in their midst.

Meanwhile, let's pile on the flowers.
