Yes Mary Laura told about this a few weeks ago.  I send my congratualtions to you and Brooke and share in the "rubbing off" part of your message,  it is an honor to be part of this group at times like this.  Like when Olive Ann Slotta got a teacher's  award a few years ago.  This is one place where real change happens and can influence an entire person's life from an early age.  I see this now more clearly, since I am working at a child care center with 800 students, ages 6 weeks to GED students.  Hope to see you in September.

Dear friends and Colleagues:
 
We are bursting with pride for our daughter Brooke, who won the Chicago Golden Apple award in May.  The ceremony will be in September, so we will get a chance to be there to see her honored !   What a thrill to have the Mayor of Chicago visit her at at her school presenting her with a basket of apples with a golden apple on top !
 
We have to believe that some of the Order life, particularly the Imaginal Education, etc. rubbed off on her, even though she often refers to when she was in "The Cult"    <http://cdn-cf.aol.com/se/smi/0201d20638/14>
