My heart and prayers go out to all in Cedar Rapids and Iowa who are suddenly
being forced to experience life conditions they did not choose or expect.
Having experienced the devastation of New Orleans after Katrina, I know what
they are experiencing as well as what the road to both physical and
emotional recovery is like.  Although we hang on to the hope that the "real
break" will come from outside (God or whoever controls Nature, FEMA, our
fellow human beings, etc.), the real break comes from within as personal
resiliency emerges replacing the sense of loss, anger, sadness, & anxiety
and filling the soul with an ineffable calm.
