[Oe List ...] Christian militarism

Yesterday in church we sang a (different) hymn to the famous tune, and I was so offended by the triumphalist militarism of the famous hymn associated with singing that tune that it really set me off! So maybe at least we won't have to sing it again any time soon.

Here's my creative (and obviously satiric) response to the use of militaristic religious hymnody. Sing it loudly to get the full impact:
Onward, Christian Soldiers 
Onward, Christian Soldiers
Marching to Iraq!
With an easy target
Painted on their back.
 
They’ll be dead or wounded
Or recalled for more
Duty in Afghanistan or
Other foreign shore.
 
Onward, Christian Soldiers
Marching to Iraq!
Never-ending conquest,
Terrorist attack.
