[Oe List ...] JWM collection move to Wesley Seminary photo

This photo is the team helping with the Joseph Wesley Mathews Archive  
Collection being moved from ICA USA's office in Chicago to Wesley  
Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
on Saturday, March 29, 2008. The gift was made by the Institute of  
Cultural Affairs in the USA, The Ecumenical Institute, and the  
Mathews family.

FAMILY DONATE THE JOSEPH WESLEY MATHEWS COLLECTION TO THE WESLEY  
THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

CHICAGO, IL?March 27, 2008? By Board resolution and family consent  
the Joseph Wesley Mathews Collection will be moving from the  
Institute of Cultural Affairs in the USA (ICA USA) in Chicago, IL to  
the Wesley Theological Seminary at 4500 Massachusetts Ave. NW,  
Washington D.C. in April of 2008.? The Joseph Wesley Mathews  
Collection consists of correspondence, research and dissertation  
materials, books, manuscripts and other writings compiled by Mathews  
during his lifetime.
?
Nino Tillman, Executive Director of ICA USA, is excited about the  
move and ?can think of no better home than our nation?s capitol for  
ICA USA?s founding father?s archival Collection.? He was a true  
pioneer of understanding human development.?? The Collection is a  
joint gift from ICA USA and the Mathews Family to the Wesley  
Theological Seminary, who is providing full financial support for  
transport of the Collection.? The Collection will be open to the  
public after its arrival in D.C.?

The Joseph Wesley Mathews Collection is an archive of Mathews? life  
experiences.? Born in 1911, he served as a military chaplain in WWII,  
was an ordained minister and was a faculty member at the Perkins  
School of Theology.? His mission to gain a deeper understanding of  
human advancement and his vocation in the Christian clergy culminated  
with his position as Dean of the Ecumenical Institute and Director of  
ICA USA in Chicago, IL until his death on October 16, 1977.
