Dear Amelia,

May you know the love that surrounds us,
in life and in death,
in unity and in separation.

My husband Fred died January 31 after a long illness and wearying decline.
Still, I was not ready to let him go. And though Dick went as he wanted, I'm
sure your own feelings are very complex. The great mystery surrounds us in
every moment, but we are especially aware of it in these moments of
transition.

I'll miss Dick's postings on the OE list serve. We were in the
Order:Ecumenical from 1970-1975, and I deeply value the electronic continuation of the
community that did so much for my spiritual development.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you make this change that is so
profound on every level of life.

Grace, peace, blessings,
Jann McGuire
Lindsay, CA

I just received this email from Amelia Kroeger. Her email address is:
_Ackroeger at aol.com_ (mailto:Ackroeger at aol.com)

Dick Kroeger died yesterday afternoon. Official time 5:01 p.m.

He was hunting with a hunting buddy, James Young, in Windom, MN. James
administered CPR as the medical units were called by his young son, Cody.
Everything was tried in the field and ambulance. The doctor at the hospital in Windom
pronounced him dead after nearly a half hour of continuing the effort to
revive him. I have requested an autopsy.

James Young's girl friend drove me to Windom (2 1/2 hours). I stayed with
Dick's body for some time and then drove home with the girls (two of our bird
dogs) arriving here about 1:30 a.m. this morning.

Dick frequently told me that he would prefer to die in the field hunting
with his dogs. He was blessed.
